Andre "Diggy Dre" Higgins, born September 11th, 1985, came from the L.A. County neighborhoods of West Covina / San Gabriel Valley, California. As a child, he lived life watching what was happening around him in his neighborhood. Diggy Dre grew up loving music. His grandfather, Chuck Higgins, became famous for jazz music and most of all, an album entitled "Pachucko Hop". Diggy Dre would visit his grandfather at his Hollywood apartment and marvel at the records on the wall and his grandfather's star for the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Diggy Dre loved being in the city. Sometimes he would go spend time with his grandmother in Compton, California, just so he could chill with the homies on the block.Diggy Dre grew up liking a variety of music ranging from The Oldies, Funk, Motown recording group "The Boys", Michael Jackson, Too $hort, Ice Cube, Snoop Doggy Dogg, N.W.A, Dr. Dre, and most of all...Eazy-E."It was played in our house a lot while I was a child so I just picked up on it. It's natural for a child to get used to what he hears".Diggy Dre eventually moved out of the hood and into the Hi-Desert with his grandmother."I'm not proud of it, I miss the city".Diggy Dre was also liked for his rhymes so much that other people from school loved to hear him rap after school. When he decided to become a rapper on the serious tip, he started to think about beats."Who was going to produce my beats? That was all I wanted to know. I also know that people sometimes have differences and I wouldn't want something to go down between me and whoever my producer would be so I decided to get down solo"Diggy Dre didn't want to make a CD that lacked in the beat area or end up with waisted time and a lot of CD's thrown out of car windows, so he started working beats getting better each time. He has been making beats for about 4 years now with his main focus...representing for the West Coast."My favorite producer is Dr. Dre. Hands down. I have an aunt who was employed by Dr. Dre but I never got to meet the man personally. I also got a lot of love for Ice Cube. Back in the day my dad used to chill with Cube before the N.W.A and the Posse era"Diggy Dre feels like the West Coast is fading."Nobody really mentions Eazy-E's name anymore. I hear 2Pac's name before I hear someone mention Eazy's and it's a damn shame because people who really love hiphop need to explore it's roots and realize that Eazy-E was the man behind it all on the West Coast. I also believe that the West Coast missed our turn in the rap scene and that is why Crunk music and East Coast rap is very hot right now both inside and outside of the clubs at this current time. I just want to see the West Coast come back one more time. I ain't really about Bloods, Crips, or "Where You From"?, because that truly dosen't concern me. I'm here to rep for the West Coast so the West Coast will be recognized again in the rap game"...................................................
