Roger Andrew Taylor was born on April 26, 1960, in Castle Bromwich, England. He has one older brother, named Steve. Roger played the harmonica and guitar before purchasing his first drum kit at the tender age of 13. Always a shy lad, he was given the nickname "Roger the Dodger". Roger played with the Scent Organs and Crucified Toad before joining Duran Duran. While with the band, he was given the nickname "Froggy Barnacle" due to his love of water sports. Roger took part in Arcadia in 1985, then left Duran Duran to retire to the countryside. He and his wife, Giovanna Cantone Taylor had the first of three children at that time. In 1994, Roger Taylor played on several tracks on Duran Duran's "Thank You" Album. He was in the video for "Perfect Day" in 1995. In 1997, he formed Freebass, but parted ways shortly afterward. In 2001 Andy Taylor and Roger Taylor started working together. This helped to lead to the reunion of Duran Duran. And the rest they say is history! We have Roger Taylor back on drums!
