I am here for Dating, Friends and Networking

About Me

I'm a college student (Rollins College, Florida, double majoring in International Relations and Religious Studies, with a minor in Writing), a writer (who's too lazy to try to get professionally published at this point, so I mainly just post up slash fanfic around the Net), I love horror (anything within the genre) and dachshunds. In my spare time I stare at my lj flist, hang out with friends, and skydive (okay, that's a lie, I've only gone once and got a huge bruise from the harness).

I spent a hellish four months in Rome, Italy, in the Fall of 2005, studying Italian, but it did mean I could vacation in Tunisia, which is the most awesome place in the world. And I'm really hoping to get to Asia after graduation (Damascus? Hamamatsu? who knows).

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

Jonny Lee Miller, he's been my favorite actor for quite some time. Trent Reznor (who is, of course, a musical GOD). If it's any person in history, probably Hunter S. Thompson...I always miss my heroes, y'know? John Barrowman, because he seems like an incredibly fun guy.

Russian Culture isn’t really this boring...right?

Russian Culture class is being incredibly boring.  It's painful for each and every one of us to get here every day we have it.  That is the trade-off with college, though, you get a few wond...

Stephen Lynch, The Reaping, and swallowing hazardous materials (oh, and FoxDay!)

Tomorrow night JD and I are set to go see Stephen Lynch--it should prove to be beyond awesome.  Of course, if he doesn't do Beelz, JD will be SOOO upset...and if he does do Beelz, I'm going to pr...

Salman Rushdie, or the old man mneiai now has a TOTAL crush on

Salman Rushdie was here speaking at the school tonight, and he was SO good.  Blew Maya Angelou's speech out of the water.  He, too, gave us stories about his life, but they were about educat...

Rollins Symposium: Maya Angelou is a pretty cool chick

The Symposium here at Rollins kicked off with an hour worth of Maya Angelou, as she gave anecdotes, read poetry, and even sang to us, seated around the Auditorium with wide eyes and laughter.  Sh...

FX Con

Was fun.  I went with JD on Friday and Saturday.  It's mostly just a dealers' room (where I spent way too much money) and gaming (which neither of us did).  We met Zachary Quinto (Sylar...

From Below, It Devours (or Torchwood Series Finale!!!)

Torchwood was incredibly unbelievable, wasn't it?  While I ended up hating Owen and Gwen even more, Tosh and Ianto were adorable (except in one part they were kind of rage-worthy, but they redeem...
