The Blues Brigade can best be described as a head-on collision of old and new. Forging a new style out of blues, hard rock, funk, country, and yes, even a dash of metal, The Blues Brigade with 100 shows in 2 years under their belts is working hard to take the blues to a new level. From A.K. McLeod's fiery hot leads, heavy rhythms, and hard-edged vocals, Jesse Brant's catchy rhythms and heavy harmonies, Ron Johnson's punchy and funkafied basslines, all backed by the rock solid beats of Rily Williams, The Blues Brigade is a force. Influences include Stevie Ray Vaughan, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Jonny Lang, Eric Clapton, as well as many more rock and blues bands. Despite being notoriously loud, they can get them bodies out and movin' on that dance floor. As young as this band is, they are a dedicated team that has played shows and shared stages with well-known aboriginal acts such as The Pappy Johns Band, The Breeze Band, Derek Miller, Slidin' Clyde Roulette Band, Crystal Shawanda, Keith Secola, and Susan Aglukark. They have played all over Ontario, New York, and A.K. has played in Florida. Recent achievements include:
-a live performance and regular airplay of songs on CKRZ 100.3 FM,
-a performance at the National Aboriginal Day event in Toronto 2008
-winning First Runners Up in the “We Got Talent†competition, a national talent competition on National Aboriginal Day in Ottawa ontario, out of 30 artists and bands.
-closed the 6th Annual Creefest in Cochrane summer 2008.
Next on their agenda is recording new material for their hard-rockin' debut Blues album
