About Me

Sage with the stearling street band
Mission Statement –To increase Moshiach awareness in the mainstream of society through Freestyle rap. This is accomplished by humor, judging others favorably, stressing the power and importance of unity, prayer, and G-d’s infinite love and forgiveness. A constant sense of urgency concerning teshuva- repentance and personal/ global redemption, replete with Scriptural quotations and the wellsprings of Chassidus pouring out to people in all walks of life, this music breaks all barriers and sets a new standard in Kosher Rap. (hishapcha-transformation)The current environment in freestyle rap is a sign of the troubled times we are living in. Basically, one person publicly degrades and embarrasses the other, without even knowing anything about them! This causes hatred and disunity, adding fuel to the fires of societal disharmony. The glamorization of violence, degradation of women, and promotion of racial discord are some of the major underlying themes in today’s rap scene.Through judging everyone favorably, seeking out and extenuating their good points, and using humor to diffuse negativity, I seek to “make lemons into lemonade” (Hamtakas haDinim). Wit, street smarts, and a unique sensitivity to where my audience is holding give me a marked edge in this volatile social arena. I seek to bring my audience a sense of self awareness, the dignity of their unique nature as human beings created in the Divine Image (through Sheva Mitzvos B’nei Noach), and put an end to the slavery of Ebonics culture. These are admittedly lofty goals, but the societal ills of this generation cannot be ignored. The T’Mimim of Lubavitch are the soldiers of the House of David, tasked by the Rebbe Rashab to fight the wars against evil in the times immediately proceeding the eminent revelation of Moshiach. I feel that my entire life has prepared me to undertake this Holy task. I am a lamplighter, prepared to go to the chutza sheain chutza hayemena v’tachton sheian tachton hayemena, without fear, fortified with my trust in Hashem and dedication to applying the Torah of Life to all situations.Hip-hop is definitely growing in popularity with Jewish youth who feel estranged from their community or are going through the turmoil and rebellion of teenage years. I seek to bolster their Jewish pride and show them the joy of Torah life. By rapping about Mishnayos, Chumash and Rashi, Chassidus, the Jewish life cycle and calendar, Yidden who have been previously estranged from their heritage can rediscover their roots with joy. Joy is a major theme in my music. I also rap zemiros.Ahavas Yisroel, Simchas HaMitzvah, and Shlaimus Ha’aretz are major themes that I strive to emphasize.
