Puppet

About Me

Puppet's story started in 2003 with two cousins who both had their own bands on the go, and had been getting together to jam for years. Those cousins, James Davies and Nathan Nash, decided that the jam sessions they were putting out needed to be heard. At the time, they were both working at a local warehouse where they discovered and recruited the next two members of Puppet, Matt Benett and Jason Short. The first practice was underway just a few days later, and Puppet started creating their sound and pushing out solid tunes. Now they were four with three guitars, keyboards, and drums. Together they were busy trying out bass players, playing some shows around town, competing and winning two local competitions, all without a bass player as part of the group. Despite their success, they still felt they needed to fill that gap. That's where the newest member formerly from the band Today and After, Dean Evanger, entered the picture....and then they were five. Puppet's musical and creative strength is powered by each individual band member's exposure to different styles of music. Rather than copying other band's sounds, Puppet creates by focusing on adaptation and evolution, by building their sound from sincere, intrinsic influences. Puppet believes their mix of ideas and opinions keeps changing things up...keeping it fresh. Don't expect just one type of genre....they strive for music that sounds and feels good. Puppet doesn't make the music, the music makes the music.
