Octopus Syng is the studio incarnation of just one person (Jaire, born in 1970), making music on so called traditional instruments. He also nowadays sometimes "covers" his own songs on a rare and well chosen occasion with his "Octopus Syng Alive" - group.

Psychedelia, pop- melodies, modern hippie folk, reverberated garage rock, sensitive, loving vibes, the sun and the moon, twilight of the forests on a summer night, bird-song, loneliness, searching for your own self, winning your fears, romanticism and good sex of course ...The whole life is psychedelic if you understand it right. This is the basic vibe of Octopus Syng.
The making of "Karmadelic" started already in May 2001, as I had returned from India with a sitar in my hand and my head full of sunny vibes . It took me nearly three years to win all the karmic obstacles and to get the record finally out; karmadelic in the truest sense of word! Anyway, I did find that lovedelic element there among all that karma junk! In the meantime I took a deep breath too, and made one Octopus Syng vinyl 7" EP as well. Thanks to everyone who helped me with this record and of course to Timo Pääkkö from Pori, who released "Karmadelic" on his SoundHawk - label.
Karmadelic is probably not the most complete record sound wise or what comestechnical side of things, which I think is only positive. The records that are"too" complete technically tend to sound synthetic, because the ever changing x-aspect , which makes living and music exciting and interesting, is missing .
The next Octopus Syng record will come out on next spring or next summer at the latest... I will put some tracks for you to listen here and to my homepage when they are ready....Good vibes for everyone!
