Women's Ensemble Theatre, founded May 2006, in Los Angeles, CA, is a women-driven, actor-derived, nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering female artists and strengthening our community.
Women’s Ensemble Theatre provides a fun and safe environment for artists to cultivate new and current talents. All members are encouraged to write, act, produce and direct, and, while our primary creative outlet is the theatre, we encourage all of our members to explore every medium of the entertainment industry. Our goal is to develop versatile artists capable of creating more dynamic work for women and tackling the most challenging roles.
At the same time, Women’s Ensemble Theatre strives to provide the community with professional productions held to the highest standards of excellence. Through the awesome power of the performing arts, the ensemble hopes to educate and entertain, but it does not stop there, members are also encouraged to give back to our community through group sponsored charity events and outreach programs.
Women’s Ensemble Theatre is committed to helping others—whether it be actors like ourselves struggling to break into the industry, school children who do not have the opportunity to see or perform in a play, or mothers working multiple jobs to support their families—all stand to benefit from our work, for we pledge to utilize our talents, our funding, and our feminine sensibilities responsibly to ensure our positive impact on society.
While, by definition, the ensemble is a women’s organization, men are encouraged to join and audition for our productions. Together we can broaden the depth and scope of the Los Angeles theatre scene, and, in doing so, build a stronger community.The are no limits to what you can achieve when you “Jump In and Get W.E.T.â€
