About Me

My name is James Hooper A.K.A Virtue, I'm a DJ and I live in Gloucester City. I am part of Gloucester FM a.k.a GFM 96.6 and have my own drum n bass show on there, for details message me or check the website www.gloucesterfm.com. Such local artists I have worked with are: MC Bengee, Darkee MC, MC Q.V, MC Brink, MC Impact, MC FX, Dread MC, DJ Callide, DJ Subverse, DJ Lukie B, DJ Fido, DJ Ricky D, DJ Tipzee, Da Butcher, Close to Death Crew, Anyone else I might of forgotten. Pretty much biggin up most of the above. Full shout outs at bottom of bio. Music was a big part of my life from a young age, although drum n bass was never really introduced to me until my early teens. Before that came along it was mainly american hip hop and a bit of punk/rock. Even though music was a big part of my life, I had 2 other passions before DJing came along, one being skateboarding, another being rugby. I managed to get to pretty high standards at both of them, from coming 2nd & 1st in a couple of street skateboarding competition at the age of 13, and getting into the Gloucester district squad in rugby at 14, As I got older however, these passions started to fade, and injury took over my rugby career. I got into drum n bass through Darkee MC a friend from a long time back, he came along one day and I had a listen to his walkman of which he was playing d'n'b. Now because Darkee was an MC, I thought that would be the only outlet for getting into drum n bass, so I started writing lyrics, I'd already written to hip hop so it didn't take me long to get on the vibe with dnb. I then went on to a few parties at small pubs and houses which a few local boys had put on, and saw the DJ and a pair of decks... Seeing the DJ at the time struck a chord, I remember sitting there and watching him, for ages, and I thought to myself, THAT, is what I want to do. I don't know who he was as it was a random house party, but big up him! I then saved up and bought a pair of cheap belt driven decks, from then on I have continued to DJ so big shout to Darkee on that one. Lately I have been concentrating just as much on production as I have been on turntablism now I have the equipment and system to do it on, so watch this space ;-). Well thats it from me, just gotta say big up to all the Gloucester people that are slowly getting this place on the map, as I've said, all of the United Sounds/Unity crew, GFM 96.6, Dark FM (www.darkfm.com) MC Glenergy, Doni Business, Donovan Smith, my two little junglettes Tammy and Georgia, The other junglettes Vixen, Tamz and Rosie, I have put him as I've worked with him but IMPACT wanted a big up and sobbed and stamped his feet to me over a message so there you go, if I've missed anyone I apologize and hit me up. Peace! Virtue
