About Me

I was born and raised in New Orleans. Hurricane Katrina ousted me for nearly eight months, that %*%@$! It was the longest I'd ever been away from home.In 2000, I earned an Associate Degree in Criminal Justice and graduated with honors. I belong to three collegiate honor societies: Phi Theta Kappa , Psi Chi and Pi Gamma Mu . I will continue pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Behavioral Sciences as soon as I recover from 2005.

Things aren’t looking good for Northern Rockies wolves. Please help!

"At a Boise rally of anti-wolf zealots, Idaho Governor “Butch” Otter told the crowd, "I'm prepared to bid for that first ticket to shoot a wolf myself." He then endorsed a plan to kill 54 of the state’s 65 packs -- over 80 percent of the state’s wolves. In Wyoming, the state legislature is moving forward with a bill to “aggressively manage” their wolf populations by killing up to 66% of wolves in their state outside national park boundaries.Any day now, the Bush-Cheney Administration could sanction the largest massacre of wolves to occur in the lower 48 states in decades. And in Wyoming and Idaho, state governments are already preparing plans to make it happen. We’re in the middle of one of the biggest fights in decades for our wolves.Together, we’ve called on governors in Idaho and Wyoming to abandon their plans to slaughter wolves within their borders. Together, we’ve expressed outrage to federal officials on their proposal to eliminate Endangered Species Act protections for Northern Rockies wolves before adequate state plans for wolf conservation are in place. Now that the official public comment period on the misguided federal plan is open, we need to go on the record in our fight to protect these magnificent creatures.Take action now! We need each and every person who cares about wolves to submit personalized comments for the public record. Help us generate 200,000 comments opposing this misguided federal plan and urge the Bush/Cheney Administration to keep vital protections for Northern Rockies wolves in place." -Defenders of Wildlife

Thanks.
