I was born in Brooklyn on a small street in Brownsville to two young, smart and stylish people. I was raised in an extended family, with grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins either living in the same house or close by. If we didn't have something someone did and if someone didn't we would be sent out to get whatever was needed and made sure that we had enough to share. I was born in the mid 70's which mean that I was actually growing up in the 80's. AAAHHHHH the 80's, the fashion, music, food, toys and time was the best! There were soo many of us that we would always have something going on, even if we were sitting out on the stoop. Do you remember that family on your block where you thought that "it must be a hundreds of them, they are everywhere and in everything....", that was my family. If you messed with one of us, ooooohhhh boy you better find the witness protection program. There was no escape. LOLOLOL but that was back then.I am grown up now and I am bonding with my family in other ways. We own our own businesses and we support each other in that way. I am a single mother of one smart and funny little boy. I spend my time working in the fashion industry as a Quality associate, raising my son and running my jewelry business.YaBI Designs - I can't really put a date when it started, because I beleive that it was in me from birth. I always wanted to be different, do things in new ways and make an impression on people. What YaBI Designs is now, is a jewelry/accessory company ran by myself. I conduct business and create designs out of my home. I promote by being my own model, word of mouth and during street fairs. I have also made pieces for bridal/baby showers (favors), wedding's, the wedding party and fund raising events. My pieces range from the very simple to "what the hell", from real cheap to "ok, do you have a payment plan.." from babies to kids to men and women. I make pieces for the body and well as the home.
