I moved to the Florida area about three years ago. I'm originally from New Orleans. Came here due to hurricane Katrina. Thanks to one of my life long friends I had someplace to go. Yeah, I lost everything! Getting seven feet of water in your house is never a good thing. Hard to see a lifetime of memories and stuff get destroyed. Hurts to see the city I've lived and loved in all my life get totaled. It's like having a death in the family.
Speaking of family, I don't have much to speak of. So I have always considered my dearest friends to be like my family. Maybe that's better anyway. My dad use to always say he would rather have one good friend than ten relatives.
One of my greatest enjoyments is going to listen to live music. I try to do it as often as possible. That's one of the things I miss most about New Orleans. We had a really great and diverse local music scene.
Another thing I have a real passion for is the beach. Guess I came to the right place for that. I really have enjoyed going to various beaches here in Florida. I've always felt a close connection to the sea. I feel at peace when I'm there.
Anyway, I'm trying to start my life over here. Rebuilding your life over after such a tragedy is not an easy thing. But life goes on. I've made a few good friends since I've been here. Always room for more though. If you think you'd like to be one - Hit me up!!! PEACE!
