About Me

WOW! this could be tough. this band is a well thought out group of professionals that 8 years ago bonded as a family. What once was The Steve Harris Band, has become Fat Freddy's Cat. After Steve's passing, and some personal changes (all in love and respect), and 4 cds, we have been together going on 9 years, which is a heck of a task for any band!!!! BUT, we are here and we want you to be a part of it. MORE info to come... PEACE .... the cat Click the above picture to go to the Official Fabulous Furry Freak Brothers website!

Sounds Like: FAT FREDDY'S CAT! (Well, actually we sound a bit like a lot of the groups that we grew up with, although we never tried to emulate anybody in particular. ) Because the members of the band have been active players for so many years, we have picked up little pieces of everybody we ever covered. Those pieces, in turn, are reprocessed in our brains as we play song ideas off of each other at the studio. That is how the creative process works for us. Our sound has been described as eclectic, raw, smooth, sweet, and any number of other adjectives, depending on who you talk to. Mostly, we're just a bunch of experienced (and slightly jaded,) rockers who got tired of the cover band scene and decided to try our hand at writing some tunes. Some of our stuff harkens of classic southern rock. Some is more dreamy, Pink Floyd-ish type songs. There are a lot of 60's and 70's influences, with some more modern nuances thrown in. Our personal experiences and idiocyncracies complete the pie. We work to use our vocal talents as much as possible, as we have four very experienced lead singers. That gives us a lot of room to move around style-wise. It also helps when you want to do some harmonies, too. The best way to find out what we sound like is to listen to our songs. Hopefully, after we get a full representation of our material up on this site, that will be easy for you, the listener. With that thought in mind, you may also wish to visit OURSTAGE.COM. (SEARCH:FAT FREDDY'S CAT.) They have a number of our newer songs available for listening and in head-to-head competition with our artistic peers on their site. Also, you may want to try INDIECHARTS.COM. (Again, SEARCH: FAT FREDDY'S CAT.) They have a number of MP3 songs, selected from our CDs and some other background info about the band. You may also want to try our other web presence. Locally, we are now on Helloterrehaute.com. Not too hard to find. Click ARTISTS,then LOCAL BANDS. Just look for our pix and click. If you decide to visit these sites, please give our tunes a spin. Meanwhile, we hope you enjoy our sample MP3 mixes, we have made available on this site. ENJOY! FFC
