Pickerington High School North Band

This MySpace represents the collective bands from Pickerington High School North, a fairly new high school in Pickerington, Ohio. The Pickerington music program has been one of the best in the state for decades. Four years ago the "Pickerington High School" marching band came in third place at the National Band Competition during their trip to Arizona for the Fiesta Bowl. Today the campuses are split. Mike Sewell directs the Central High School bands, and Marc Parulekar directs the North High School bands. In 2003, The North and Central bands traveled to New York City together and marched in the Veteran's Day Parade. In Spring of 2005, the Marching Panthers from North went to Florida without Central and marched in the Festival Disney Parade. That year Pickerington High School North recieved the National Champion Award for the entire festival. They won first place with the Marching Band, and Symphonic Bands. This year, the North and Central high schools combined for the final time, traveled to California together, and participated in the 2006 Tournament of Roses Parade in Pasadena, California. The Pickerington High School North Marching Panthers just started their fourth season. The OMEA Marching Contest show this year is a selection of songs composed by Franz Liszt, they include Hungarian Rhapsody, and Les Preludes.
