What We Went Through 20.10.08
The debut album from Tom Weldon and The Tom Weldon Band is the product of almost two years worth of line-up changes, solo performances and musical experimentation. The process started at the beginning of these two years with the long removed original line-up recording a full albums worth of dark, concept driven rock music. After a summer of solo performances, Tom began writing more and more introspective and musical songs, owing more to key influences such as Jeff Buckley and David Bowie, than the rock music on that album. The songs didn't feel relevant and didn't live up to Tom's and The Tom Weldon Band's potential - So they were axed.
After gigging and working on the newer material for some time, recording began in November '07. However, just as mixing was about to begin the tracks were all accidentally erased with no hope of being salvaged. Although thoroughly disheartened The Tom Weldon Band returned and within a matter of weeks had re-recorded 10 tracks which are currently being mixed. This is expected to be completed sometime before April when The Tom Weldon Band will be out and about again gigging this new material.
