About Me

Singer/songwriter and pianist Lisa Lauren started out playing jazz clubs but got weary of the same old American Songbook songs that everyone else was playing. So she started mixing it up with some Beatles and other pop tunes, to the chagrin of many a jazz club owner. Her bass player talked her into going into the studio and before she knew it her first CD, "what comes around" was getting airplay all over the U.S. and Australia. Miramar offered her a record deal, gave her a little bit of money, then filed Chapter 11 right before her second CD, "my own twist" came out. She has just released a compilation of Beatles songs from her three CD's (and a few recently recorded). The disc features Grammy award winning sax hunk David Sanborn, as well as Steve Rodby (Pat Metheny), Fareed Haque, Willy Porter, Howard Levy, Greg Koch, Neal Alger and several other fab Chicago musicians. Lisa's Beatles arrangements have been generously featured on Terri Hemmert's "Breakfast With the Beatles" show on WXRT (Chicago's Finest Rock) and other Beatles shows around the U.S. Some of her CD's are available on iTunes; all are available at Amazon.com.
