About Me

Get these tracks
ORIGINS
Formed by Jim in 1996 and they have played at all the top venues in Glasgow (King Tuts, Arena, Nice and Sleezy, 13th Note, Venue and the University circuit.)
INFLUENCES
Their combined influences include Pixies, The Breeders, The Amps, The Beatles and 80'/90' US Punk. The band and their sound although encapsulating these influences, simultaneously transcend them, cutting a very individual figure within the Glasgow music scene.
MORE INFO Alkahounds were in hiatus for a few years, while Jim worked on some solo projects and TV related projects. They are currently working on a new CD, which will be written, performed, recorded and produced by Alkahounds, some of this material will be available on Myspace very soon.
The band has had some airplay in America, Peoplesound.com used some of our tracks for a Snow Odyssey video, and soundtrack CD. We are also featured in the Book Idiot's Guide to Mp3 (European addition) and are featured in the first ever issue of e-music magazine. We also completed a week's tour of L.A. where we were well received.
Our older songs can now be bought from Tune Tribe via the Tune Tribe Widget above.
