Music has been a part of my life since age 3. My father had this large collection of old 45s and LPs, that he brought with him from Milan. It was listening to these old recordings, which sparked music in my veins. As I child, I remember having this silly habit, of picking up two skinny objects, and using them to bang on common household objects - chairs, buckets, bowls, whatever I could get my hands on. I'd do it while the records were playing, trying to figure out how it was done. It drove my mother completely insane, but my father couldn't have been happier.I also remember a time during the 70s, when I used to visit my aunt every Friday, and she would be playing all the latest disco. It was such a weird era for me, watching everyone getting "down and dirty" to this music, and I enjoyed it very much.A few years after this, when I was nine, my father bought me an old used organ. Up to this point, I had played nothing but the drums, but I also knew that he seriously expected me to learn this thing. He was optimistic that I could learn how to play, and eventually I did... But it took the help of two of my great uncles, and a whole lot of hard work! Two years later, I was writing my own little tunes, kind of silly but good practice, I felt.Later, in high school, I joined the school band. This was where I really started to play the drums - no more banging on pots and pans! I drew a lot of inspiration from The Beatles, The Beach Boys, and Led Zeppelin in those days. I also learned a lot from studying percussionists like Ringo Starr, Charlie Watts, and John Bonham.Since then, I have been in several bands, including a Beatles cover band (1993), Sphere (1994-1995, with my good friend Z. Mann Zilla), Holly's Glasses (1999), and Unknown Destination (2000-2002). As fun as many of these projects were, I decided that I needed to get my own album done, a project which has consumed me for well over a few years.
