There are dee-jays that just spin music and there are Dj’s who break hits. I consider myself to be a mixer (last of a dying breed). Anyone can drop a needle on a record or scream brand new over a new song, but I take proud in mixing and blending all music: Rock, House, R&B, Hip Hop, etc. As a kid born and raised in Boston, MA. I would watch my mentor: DJ Curtis Lockett spinning for hours (example: two copies of Eric B & Rakim vinyl with the 4th & Broadway labels). It was at that moment when I realized that djing was something I wanted to embrace.
I feel as if I have made a name for myself by spinning homegrown parties, mixtapes, running my own mixshow on WMBR 88.1 FM at MIT, every Saturday since the golden age of Hip Hop in Boston. Now as Hip Hop Music Director, I enjoy spinning some of the best homegrown and national Hip Hop in a mix-show format. I also take great pride in running an airtight ship with a great sense of quality music that’s not supported by other outlets.
I’ve had the pleasure of DJing and setting the mood at numerous clubs in and out of town such as: the Milky Way, The Redline, The Middle East, Evos, Cobblestones, The Western Front, Bills Bar, Enormous Room, BeeHive (Jill Scott Afterparty), and more.
