I am Suzanne Kehr...I don't like talking about myself, I have a habit of explaining the opposite of what I mean at times...this does not mean I am silent. I rant and make waves...or try to per se...I am an Artist and I create things for people to look at that seem the aim ironically is to actually reveal aspects of myself or my take on things. It easier to throw it out there visually perhaps rather than for any one to rely on me to explain the world out for them...which I don't think anyone could successfully do...so it is my perspective..Like everything, it is all subjective. The pictures I have selected in the "View More Pics..." section are photos of my work. I have come to favor metal, and unfortunately work very large for being such a petite person (paid for it by getting a hernia that normally the chivalrous men get..yeah anyway). If you ran into me right out of the studio, you might think I have carried the 'tomboy' girl thing into adulthood. I have cuts, scratches and bruises normally from this..with the occasionally black dirt smear mark like I came out of a coal mine, or powdered like I came out of some sort of blast. I can clean up ok, when I want to...I think..maybe.. Yes, I weld and use all sorts of tools... I work with steel, bronze, wood, assemblage, casings, Bondo, resin... whatever I can figure to manipulate....Most my work is Three Dimensional and carries some sort of conceptual idea.I am also part of the Art Installation Group fivesome "Scatterbrain" (You can check this group at MySpace too....http://www.myspace.com/scatterbrainart or webpage http://www.scatterbrainart.com) composed of members Bekka Sage, Elizabeth Otten, Kristin Rose, Mallory Feltz and Myself. Although still in existence, we try to do one piece a year while the three of us are in graduate school in different parts of the country, one has had fairly successful independent film/video projects. Trying to figure out ways to juggle working as a group in different geographical locations with life and art.Currently, I am in San Francisco now working on my graduate studies toward my MFA in Sculpture at the San Francisco Art Institute. If you think you recognize me, maybe...I went to school with you or lived in the same town...but more likely I have found when people ThinK they know me it is more likely I was their bartender at some point..(early Sudsy Malone's, Top Cat's, Bogart's, Taft Theatre, Southgate House, Ozzie's Balcony, Fillmore, Warfield...and I was also a Camel Rep there a while too..). I have lived for bouts in Michigan, Arizona, California, and Ohio. I have also been involved in animal rescue both in Cincinnati, Ohio and San Francisco, California...
