About Me

My zeal comes from the sights, sounds, smells, tastes, and touches that make up my constantly-evolving world. I'm a walking book of contradictions in terms: energetic yet mellow; philosophical yet down to earth; shy yet outgoing, well-traveled yet grounded.. Quirky, curious, intelligent, and fun.. Most importantly, I'm absolutely passionate about life, travel, good cuisine, and the arts.

My Interests

Travel, Spain, Palma de Mallorca, Barcelona, Boston, NYC, Jeeps, North End, South End, Theatre, Art, Espresso, Red Wine, Bookstores (Brookline Booksmith and Schoenhof's are my favorites), Coffee, Tealuxe, Gym, Dogs and Cats, Naps, Spooning, Good Food and Cooking (I missed my calling- I should have been a chef..)

I'd like to meet:

Spaniards and Spainophiles, as well as anyone else who has been bitten by the travel bug.Anyone who is addicted to really good headrubs before drifting off for a nap.Readers. Voracious readers.People who also feel that happiness is woven between eating noodles at a food stall on the streets of Asia, making a fideua on the beach in Spain, being decadent in a swanky Manhattan restaurant, and creating something amazing in their own kitchen.

Music:

Indigo Girls, Tori Amos, Manu Chao, Ani Difranco, Rufus Wainwright, Sarah McLachlan, Shakira (old school- before she want totalmente americana), Radiohead, Madonna, Shows, etc., Three discs in my player right now: AIDA (Broadway cast), Indigo Girls (Become You), and Kissing Jessica Stein's super-cool, jazzy soundtrack..

Movies:

Basically anything that's playing at the Kendall.. but two of my absolute favorites are "Mujeres al borde de un ataque de nervios" and "Todo sobre mi madre." Almodovar just does incredible things with film, Hitchcock flicks, 9 to 5, Amelie, Willie Wonka (the original), Silence of the Lambs, Breakfast at Tiffany's, Airplane, Muriel's Wedding , Best in Show and other Parker Posey faves..

Television:

Food TV- I'm kind of addicted. West Wing, Will and Grace, SNL when Molly Shannon was on, Seinfeld reruns, Golden Girls, L Word (gets me in touch with my inner lesbian), Six Feet Under..

Books:

Interpreter of Maladies, Wicked, Franny and Zooey, God of Small Things (it was amazing). I juggle a lot but I'm only working on "The Shadow of the Wind" right now.. and the Food section of the Globe and the Times every Wednesday..
