She has built her base over the years working in different aspects of the apparel industry as a stylist, costume designer, consultant, and CEO. Walker has a dynamic appeal because she has done design, marketing for companies such as Champion, ECKO & Sputnik and held the top executive seat at Phat Farm. Along the way, April has been featured in numerous publications including, The New York Times, Cosmopolitan, The Source Magazine, Entertainment Tonight and WWD. She has been called a “pioneer” and “a visionary”, among other accolades. She brings experience, creativity, and passion to this new step in her career as an entrepreneur.Walker, a fifteen-year veteran of the urban fashion revolution who founded the influential clothing lines Walker Wear and Dimes integrated her designer aesthetic to put a creative spin on the pet supply shopping experience. Walker used her store as a test-market to see what pet owners wanted and needed most, and she began to create her own products to fill this void. Walker developed Walker Pet Products, an incubator company for innovative pet brands. Some of the brands include “Dimes”, a doggie fashion collection that includes classic “Brooklyn” hoodies, an organic treat company called “Neats Treats”, inspired by Anita Walker…April’s mother, and introducing “Papa Jacks”, a great tasting, all natural dog food created by Jack Walker…April’s father. The products hit the tri-state area this spring. Shoppers can get a preview of Dimes, Neats Treats, and Papa Jack’s can be found at the better specialty stores and boutiques such as Kiki’s Pet Spa and NYC Pet stores.
