Making beats, engineering sound, all else is a given obviously....
Jesus (not toooo soon though ^__^)
Rachelle Ferrell - The greatest voice/musician of our generation. Quite possibly the single greatest, most powerful voice of all time.
JUSSST BLAZZZZEEEEEE (my inspiration, his beats are FIYAHH)
DARKKK CHILLDDD (Rodney Jerkins is a BEAST)
Kanye West (Underrated musician- Just because you sample a lot doesn't mean it's not original. Trust me, I know. :cough: I sample too
Alicia Keys (I would like to meet her again. This time, I'd just like it not to be in the audience @ a show lol) Have her sing to me again. YES IM CRAAAZZZYYYY!!!! :-o!!!
Halle Berry :cough: ummmm??? No comment on this 1. ^__^...
**Okay, I'm getting tired of all the beatmakers calling themselves producers. Quick research (20 seconds it took me juss now) Wikipedia defines a producer:In the music industry, a record producer (or music producer) has many roles, among them controlling the recording sessions, coaching and guiding the performers, and supervising the recording, mixing and mastering processes. This has been a major function of producers since the inception of sound recording, **but in the latter half of the 20th century producers also took on a wider entrepreneurial role.**-Now if you're juss a beatmaker, you are what we call COMPOSERS (one who writes music compositions, a beat, etc). Now you can be a PRODUCER who happens to COMPOSE (I do this). But if you put a beat together and expect all out producing credit on an album then you're living in a dream world. LOL I juss had to let all you peeps know this. This is not an arrogant scolding mechanism aimed towards new musicians. I am merely letting you guys know that a record producer is not a primarily a -beatmaker or a composer-.Just my 2 cents... ^_^ Much love
Do you get the message yet?Just about any type of music interests me. The fact that I am a musician makes that point inevitable. :-/P.S. I sample too sometimes ^__^
okay I have a lil more time to finish this up:
I must add that Rachelle Ferrell is probably the most powerful voice ever to grace the sound of music. If I could ever find her, I would love to get back in touch with her. So if you see this auntie, holla @ ME IMMEDIATELY. I don't know how we lost contact!!! ;-(...
The Godfather (Awww come on, get real. Number 1)
The Godfather Part II (Aww come on, get real. Number 1 1/2 LOL) Although many may slap me for this, but I can't figure out which one I like better the 1st or the second. It depends on how I'm feeling.
Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon (I dont give a fuck if you don't like it. It's a classic in my opinion. An opinion is like an ass: Everyone has 1.)
Ben-Hur (Classic)
The Usual Suspects (This movie has a really nice twist to it. And ummm LOLz to Scary Movie for spoofin it. I kinda noticed the spoof straight off the bat when watching Scary Movie)
Friday (Yes Friday made my list even though, as you can see my all-time favorites tend to be those deep movies. Friday is juss the shit. I remember watching this movie when my house was getting shot up in 97. No, that's not a joke.)
Goodfellas (Marti Scorsese's best work In my opinion. Some beg to differ, but like I said, whateva u think.)
Memento (WOW a lot of people don't know about this movie. But this one is insane (LITERALLY). You have to see it to know what I mean. One hint though, The movie STARTS at the END and ENDS at the BEGINNING. It's what I like to call a MINDFUCKER movie.)
Mulholland Drive (Okay, I don't like this film merely because of the lesbian factor. ^__^ This movie is THE most INSANE movie I have EVER seen. It fucked my mind so hard, I had to watch it 3 more times just to make an ATTEMPT at trying to comprehend what I just witnessed. The movie is CRAZY. If your mind is weak, don't try this one. But Naomi Watts put on a performance OUT OF THIS FUCKIN WORLD. She wasn't even nominated for the Oscar that year but she should've been and she shoulda FUCKIN WON. And yes, she is aussie SEXINESS. Naomi Watts is the chick from The Ring. ^__^ btw one of my favorite directors, David Lynch, did this film. He is a genius in all aspects of film. He's also a SOUND designer :-D)
American Beauty (Come on now, need I fuckin say more?)
The Matrix (No comment, if u don't like the Matrix, you've obviously had something stronger that I had to smoke tonight ^__^)
Full Metal Jacket (This movie has the best quotes EVER. "How tall are you, private?"
"Sir, five-foot-nine, sir."
"Five-foot-nine, I didn't know they stacked shit that high!") HAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAHA
Fight Club (Come on, if you're a guy you've GOT to like this one. And if you're a chick, I'm sure you probably enjoyed Brad Pitt. :cough: I look better though ^__^ look @ meeee look @ meeee. LOL juss playin
But I mean this film is pure insanity. And the twist is also too creative. I never got a chance to read the novel in which the movie is derived. The adaptational script to this movie is great though.
I appreciate just about all genres.
I could go on forever with this list. But I'mma keep my cool cuz as I'm writing this I am making some hot beats in the studio. :D I need to get back to it....
