It's like Microsoft, everyone's on MySpace, so here I am too...

About Me

Well, hmmm...I don't really like to try to describe myself. It's very subjective and most probably don't see me like I see myself. I guess most people would agree that I'm introspective, philosophical, cute but never pretty, a bit of a wildflower (don't want roots anytime soon), I like science, I majored in Pyschology instead of Philosophy because I thought I'd have a better chance of getting a job (which I now realize was very superficial - which I don't want to ever be). I want to travel, go to grad school (maybe forever), I just got out of a relationship, so I'm keeping things cool for a while -- time to get to know who I am again. I like girls and guys, which can make things complicated in my life - so much of that is yet to come I think (not just literally : ). I like dry, sarcastic humor. I'm not very clever or quick witted most of the time. I love to have fun - I think life should be fun, challenging, interesting - never sacrificing my potential or my ultimate fate. I don't feel or look my age (about 10 years younger most say). I love my family and friends and hope to make more close friends. I'd rather have a few really close friends than a bunch of superficial friends. I can be so serious, I really need to lighten up sometimes. Nevertheless, I can only handle chit chat for so long and then I want the soulful information, the mind's eye. Well, for someone who doesn't enjoy describing myself, I supppose I've done quite enough now.

My Interests

Philosophy, Physics, Music, Bands, Art, Enjoying the Bay Area, Friends, Philosophical Conversations, Independent Films, Woody Allen, Anything French, Activism for Peace and Justice, FUN!

I'd like to meet:

I'd like to meet people who are interesting, intelligent, beautiful, kind, compassionate, interested in what I'm interested in, etc. I'm not looking for anything, really. I want to become good friends with my new roommates, enjoy my job relationships, etc. Otherwise, I'm open about who I meet - that is what makes life interesting to me. I can sit down at a cafe with someone I don't know - may never see them again or they may become a good friend - but I'm the type of person who likes to just get to know people and what they're about. But, like I said, I can only handle so much chit chat - I like getting to the bottom of everything.

Music:

Jazz (love Yoshi's), Radiohead, Maroon 5, Tool, System of a Down, Pink Martini, Music from the East, Classical Piano, Folk, Punk (What happened to Subincision?), Funk and Soul. I play guitar, piano and sing.

Movies:

Any Woody Allen film ever made. French films like Amelie. Independent films. Political documentaries or films. Occasionally a light comedy, if it's not horrid. I'm sort of a film snob.

Television:

Unfortunate, yet necessary. Love That 70's Show. I usually watch House MD, Without a Trace, Cold Case Files, L.A. Law and NYPD Blue. But it's sad to watch too much TV.

Books:

Dostoevsky, Joyce, Orwell, Lawrence, Morrison, McCourt, Poetry (e.e. cummings, Sappho, Burning with a Vision-Poetry of the Science and the Fantastic, etc.)...Dark moral landscapes or philosophical explorations. I liked The Dancing Wu Li Masters, The Universe in a Nutshell, Black Holes and Time Warps (basically, lay-person physics books).

Heroes:

The Buddha, Ghandi, MLK, etc. (I guess)I don't really have any heroes...
