The Vectors emerged from the Fullerton, California punk scene in the late '70s. Their first break came when they entered a novelty song called "Death to Disco" in a contest that radio station KROQ was having for a "NO DISCO" compilation record. (The Insane Darrell Wayne.)
The song appeared on the album and gained radio airplay on KROQ, KNAC and several college radio stations. They put together a permanent line-up and began gigging around Orange County and Los Angeles. Unfortunately, at the time major labels were not signing young punk/power pop bands so the Vectors had to be content to be self sufficient and became a major "D.I.Y." band.
Luckily, their high energy live shows earned the band a large following, especially in Southern California. They enjoyed airplay on local radio stations and have today earned their rightful place in punk rock history across the nation and abroad...
Though The VECTORS are not currently in touring mode, they still receive offers from all over the world to once again hit the stage, and give the world a taste of OC punk circa 1979-81.
Dig if U Will... (Direct from Orange County California!!) Old-school pop-punkers The VECTORS release the 30th Anniversary Remixed/Remastered version of their uber-collectable classic, "Death To Disco."
The song (originally recorded as a tongue-in-cheek gag) has become one of the most collectable and sought after punk rock singles ever. Originally released in a limited edition of 500 DIY 7" vinyl singles, D2D took on a life of its own when the Internet revolution hit and spread the VECTORS' punk rock contagion world-wide.
You can now hear "Death to Disco" like you've never heard it before...(Those who like snaps, crackles and pops be warned - this baby's clean as a whistle!!) Check out the wacky 30th Anniversary Dance Mix too!!
Remixed by the Vectors and Bob Emmet (Culver City, CA) and remastered by punk icons Geza X and Paul Roessler at Satellite Park Studios, Malibu CA.

This is an outstanding CD containing (most importantly) the recordings the Vectors did during the late 1970s and early 1980s. (not to be confused with the Swedish band also called the "Vectors").
It bridges the gap between early California-style KBD punk/surf punk and new wave and powerpop from the same era. If you like the first two Ramones albums, the first two Stranglers albums, the first two Devo albums, the Readymades, the first Humans EP, etc., then this CD is for you. It's minimalist. It's fantastic. It's very retro 1970s punk, but definitely not hardcore punk.
Some would consider the Vectors closer to a new wave band, though others would disagree. In any event, this CD comes highly, highly recommended.
