About Me

For my education and professional experience, see blog post entitled Curriculum Vitae; for a poetic look at who I am, see blog post entitled "I Am from Song."I am no longer teaching at ASU. I decided to take a year's sabbatical after finishing my Master's Degree and AZ Teaching Certification, and it's stretching into year two. I don't want to be tied to a J(ust)O(ver)B(roke) right now so I can be free to travel when I want or am needed elsewhere.I am currently working with my daughter Kelly (publicist) and with Rock Solid Entertainment, Inc. promoting a Christian artist out of Florida (Click on Jaime's music below or click on her picture in my friends to check her out.), building teams of people who get paid to shop on the Internet (this one's exploding right now), and dabling in trading the Forex - all entrepreneurial endeavors. My latest effort is a novel. It started as a two stanza poem but has developed into a novel, a novel + sequel, a trilogy, or a series. It grows daily.

My Interests

Music! The Arts! I've just started ministering through the most "amazing" choir at my church. Let's just say we get'em on their feet and praisin', maybe even dancin'. We get DOWN! Brand new interest is Swing Dance; I'm learning at Dab's Dance Space and Kat's Korner.

I'd like to meet:

I want to meet other Christians, but I'm also interested in hearing from any of my former ENG 101, 102, 107, and 216 students who may find my site.

Music:

The music of Israel and New Breed!!! Contemporary Christian, Jazz, Classical, Oldies (like me), and occasionally Country, but that's rare. I tune in mostly to KLOVE when I'm in my car, and I like to listen to classical while I'm trading the Forex (It grounds me).

Movies:

Well, I'm a real movie buff, so there are just too many to list, but my all time favs are Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter (I own 'em all). And I've got to tell you: I got a huge laugh out of Something's Got to Give - the part where she cried her guts out (been there). Watching that was cathartic!

Television:

I watch mostly Fox News, the Hallmark Channel (I've found M.A.S.H. [which I'd never watched before] and love it), and I occasionally like to check out House and Grey's Anatomy, if I'm free.

Books:

Christian: The Bible, A New Song, Nine O'clock in the Morning, Like a Mighty Wind, The Blood Covenant Series (tapes) by Malcolm Smith Fantasy: The Lord of the Rings, Chronicals of Narnia, anything by Vivian Vande Velde, J. K. Rowling, or Eoin Colfer (from adolescent lit) Motivational: Personality Plus, The Five Love Languages, Who Moved my Cheese, The Dream Giver, Parable of the Pipeline, The Cashflow Quadrant

Heroes:

All those guys out there (Hey, Matt!) who are defending our country from extremist fanatics.
