About Me

Myspace Layouts
I aim to live with every fibre of my being.
I get bored easily. I do youth ministry. I do worship ministry. I work in a school. I study Theology. I'm so creative it's unhealthy (no big headedness, just fact): I get my fingers in too many pies then burn out. I am learning to say no.
I love laughing. I love running. I love playing piano. I love making music, writing and painting. I used to love acting, but that's on hold. I love coversations that challenge you (challenging and arguing are not the same thing). I hate being attracted to someone as it makes me uncomfortable.
I love discovering new music and fusing different expressions of art. I love helping people understand what the Bible means. I love watching people grow. I love silence and sound.
I have a love/hate relationship with being honest.
I will never stop learning. I love putting clothes together. I love making discoveries. I miss the sunshine. But I love the smell of the rain. I miss my friends. I miss the ocean. I hate that I am materialistic. I'm not fond of beetroot. I wear the colour blue a lot, but would like to wear more yellow.
I love wasting time and inviting others to do the same, praying, being spontaneous and trying new things, hats, thinking outside the box. I love films, not the girly girly ones (although they can be fun) we're talkin films that make you think. I hate it when people try to start a conversation with me when I'm walking away.

My Interests

Oh, thousands. I seem to find new ones everyday. Take this little web page for example - was Kate's idea(present in a few of my pics). A few recent ones are painting, learning languages very slowly (guten tag!), learning percussion, leading worship, visiting friends, taking photos, getting addicted to new songs.

I'd like to meet:

As many people as I can! Ideally I'd love to meet John Foreman of Switchfoot and talk lyric-writing with him for a couple of hours, or with anyone else interested in lyric writing for that matter. I will talk with you about ANYTHING: God, the Universe and everything...the number 42...what the first thing is that you do when you get up in the morning and why...the floor is wiiiiide open, people, so talk to me! Random subjects are very welcome, but please keep it clean, people!

Music:

Jars Of Clay - Worlds Apart

A (very) small taster of my (eclectic) tastes: Jamie Cullum, Jamiroquai, DJ Andy Hunter, Beck, Louie Armstrong, Puccini's 'La Boheme', Switchfoot, Jack Johnson, Imogen Heap, the Kooks, Basement Jaxx, Blindside, Jose Gonzalez. I recently discovered MuteMath and Taylor Sorensen. Too many to mention really.

Movies:

Napolean Dynamite, Gladiator, the Matrix, LOTR Trilogy, the Shawshank Redemption, Finding Nemo, Magnolia, Moulin Rouge, Shrek 1 & 2, Save the Last Dance, the Notebook, Dogma, The Interpreter, Pirates of the Carrabian, Chicken Little, 300. Oh. Mental Blank.

Television:

CSI, Prison Break (i'm addicted - it's sad, I know, The OC (sadder and sadder) and the West Wing. I don't watch as much TV as I used to. Plus British Telly's kinda crap.

Books:

The Screwtape Letters by CS Lewis, After God's Own Heart by Greg Shepard, Velvet Elvis by Rob Bell (LEDGEND!) the Bible, Aftershock by Phillip Holloway, Chocolate Cake by Michael Rosen and Selected poems by Emily Dickinson.

Heroes:

These are the people I aspire to: Jesus Christ, my parents (cheesy, but true), anyone who have ever tried to communicate the gospel through their actions an not just words. My former housemate Naomi who has been supporting her boyfriend through a risky kidney transplant and recovery like a trooper. My two friends in working in China, being Jesus to those who are drowning in their circumstances of cancer and drugs. My fantastic housemate and unofficial mentor Nicci, who never ceases to amaze me with her patient, gentle wisdom and her wonderful sense of humour.

Girls may find this interesting, boys might not.

Here's the thing. I find myself on a journey of pre-valentines-day-self-discovery. This is interesting to me, as almost every time V Day rolls around I go into an impenitrable shell of denial, general...
