I am here for Friends

About Me

Ok, well.... I'm first and foremost an "Army Brat". Even though I'm grown up and married.... I just believe that if you were ever an Army Brat, You will be one for life. I have lived all over, including in Europe! My husband Shawn and I currently live in the San Francisco Bay Area, California, where I was born. We have 2 pets: An adorable cat, and a strong-willed Chihuahua. They're both a handful, and close enough to "kids" for us at this time._______________________________________________________ ______________HERE ARE SOME PICTURES OF MY FAMILY AND THE MILITARY BASE OUR FAMILY LIVED ON IN GERMANY WHEN I WAS A KID. I PERSONALLY DID NOT HAVE ANY OF MY OWN (OF THE BASE), BUT MY FRIEND GABRIEL WAS KIND ENOUGH TO PROVIDE ME WITH SOME, SINCE HE LIVED ON THE BASE, AT THE SAME TIME AS US:_________________________________________________________ _____________ I'm a bit eccentric (see my interests), but in a fun and creative way, I think. I like to believe that I'm a good person in most areas of life, as do we all. Yes, I've messed up here and there.... But I do learn from my mistakes. My big dream is to be a family/marriage counselor or "therapist". And if I don't do that, I may end up either a writer, or something with pets. Heck, I might do those things on the side, regardless. I've moved around a lot in my life. As I said above, my family and I lived in Karlsruhe Germany for 4 years back in the 1980's, as my father was stationed there. I consider that to be one of the better parts of my life! Maybe some day I will go back and visit there too, just for old-times-sake. I used to want to be a doctor..... An obstetrician, to be exact (from age 5 to age 15). So there was a period in my life where I was burying my nose in all the medical books I could get my hands on. But now, I mostly stick to Psychology. ____________________________________________________________ ____________________ MY BLOGS---- I should tell you: Once in a great while, I will go into one of my contemplative moods, and I'll write a blog entry on whatever I'm thinking about. So consider yourself warned, hehehe. Keep in mind though, that when I write blogs, I am liberal minded about SOME things, and conservative about others. Its not that I can't pick a side-- its that I don't believe in letting yourself get so consumed by a "label", that you lose track of your judgment and who you really are inside. I never mean anything I write in an insulting way, so don't take it personal. I try to draw a fair line between right and wrong, which is based on how I feel when I am exposed to certain things. Of course, that doesn't mean that I never do anything wrong--- I'll admit, I've done some rotten things in my life. But if I realize I've done something wrong, I think it over, learn my lesson, and strive not to repeat it. Nobody is perfect... But if you're sorry for the wrong you do, and you learn from it, that's what separates you from the bad people. ____________________________________________________________ _______________.... ..I edited my profile at Freeweblayouts.net , check out these Myspace Layouts! My Interests

I'd like to meet:

New friends! Hopefully establish some solid, long-term bonds with them too. I'm also trying to dig up some people I knew back in high school, etc. So far, I've found quite a few here! Basically, I just like fun-loving people, who are friendly, have a laid-back sense of humor and are easy to talk to. Sharing any of my interests is a super-big plus too! ____________________________________________________________ ___________
Melissa's Seduction Style: Fantasy Lover
You know that ideal love that each of us dreams of from childhood? That's Melissa!
Not because she posesses all of the ideal characteristics, but because she is a savvy shape shifter.
She has the uncanny ability to detect someone's particular fantasy... and make it her.

She inspires each person to be an idealist and passionate, and she makes each moment memorable
Even a simple coffee date with her can be the most romantic moment of someone's life
By giving her date exactly what he desires, she quickly becomes the ideal lover.

Her abilities to make dreams come true is so strong, that she is often the love of many people's lives.
Her ex's (and even people she has simply met or been friends with) long to be hers.
No doubt she is the one others have dreamed of... Her biggest challenge is finding *her* dream lover.______________________________________________________ __________________________
YOU MIGHT BE AN ARMY BRAT IF:
1. Military vehicles, or anything colored Army Green makes your eyes tear up with childhood memories.
2. When you see vapor trails in the sky, you ASSUME they're from military aircraft.
3. Everyone asks where you're from, because they can't quite peg your accent.
4. You can easily adopt any accent, because you lived all over.
5. The smell of Brasso makes you homesick.
6. You know how to fold a flag, even though you were never in Scouts.
7. You had a pup tent in your yard...until your parents found out what was REALLY going on in there!
8. Your civilian friends got “grounded”, while you were "on restriction".
9. You knew the rank, and first/last name of the kid next door's father, before meeting the kid next door.
10. You refer to supermarkets as “The Commissary”.
11. You refer to to the local 7-11 as "The Shoppette".
12. You roll your clothes up Army-Style when you put them in a drawer or suitcase.
13. You long for M.R.E.’s when you've got the munchies.
14. You played hide and seek outside with your friends at midnight, because the military base had no curfew, was fenced in and well guarded.
15. Your school field trips were to REAL medieval castles.
16. You say "Say again?" instead of "what?" or "huh?"
17. It makes you crazy when people say A.- S.- A.- P. instead of A-sap.
18. You've been to 10 different schools and know how to use every gun out there.
19. You can point out all of the mistakes in the uniforms of movie soldiers.
20. You call America "The States".
21. You’re tired of explaining to people how you “Went to School in Germany, but your classmates weren't German."
21. You can cuss in almost EVERY single language.
22. You empty out your wallet and there's currency from at least 5 different countries.
23. You can tell military time just as good as regular time.
24. You can speak military code (alpha, bravo, charlie, delta).
25. You call camouflage “B.D.U.’s” (Battle Dress Uniforms)
26. You don’t have family meetings, you have "briefings".
27. You almost laugh at even the biggest punishments American teachers give you, because it’s baby stuff compared to what the military teachers over-seas would do.
28. The movie "Full Metal Jacket" is a family favorite.
