Call me an elitist, but I enjoy listening to music by people who possess disgustingly insane, almost offensive, amounts of talent. The following is an excellent example of that aforementioned genius. 'Fantomas', playing live at The Montreux Jazz Festival(!) in Switzerland, headed by 'the Frank Zappa of a new generation', Mike Patton (Mr. Bungle, Faith No More, Tomahawk, Lovage, Peeping Tom, etc.) along with guitarist 'King Buzzo' Buzz Osborne (Melvins) and bassist Trevor Dunn (Mr. Bungle, Melvins), with a spry 55-year-old Terry Bozzio (Zappa, Missing Persons, Jeff Beck, among countless others) filling in on drums while original drummer Dave Lombardo is busy playing with some other band that I have since stopped caring about. If I could have it my way, it would stay this way. Do yourself a giant favor and open your mind and take the time to check this out.
