Hot Club Of Boulder

About Me

The Hot Club of Boulder is a hard-swingin' outfit that plays 1930s and '40s jazz in the style of Django Reinhardt and Stephane Grappelli.HCBQ is currently a sextet comprised of three acoustic guitars, clarinet, standup bass and drums. Guitarists Barron Beshoar and Roger Franz trade hot solos with clarinetist Lorna Floyd. Bassist Greg Chiarella, and drummer Kristen Anderson provide a solid foundation. Barron and Lorna also sing period songs both familiar and obscure. This is toe-tapping, danceable music from the golden era of jazz that appeals to listeners of all ages. The Hot Club of Boulder has played dances at the Mercury Cafe in Denver, Adventures in Dance in Littleton, the Boulder Senior Center, the Katrina Benefit Dance in Longmont and, of course, the 2007 Longmont Jazz Festival, and the Longmont Swing Festival & Gypsy Rendezvous (which we produce). . We have also played the Longmont summer Concerts in Park series, Rhythm on the River, coffee house gigs, Democratic political rallies, wedding receptions, and private parties. On September 20, 2008 HCB had the honor to play Djangofest Colorado with Robin Nolan, John Jorgenson, and Gonzalo Bergara.
