About Me

MyGen Profile GeneratorJacob started out as a foursome in a small town known only as Elkin, NC. With Matt Huttar and Jayce Long (or as we call him Lonnie) on guitar, Josh Mcbride on drums, and Canaan Longworth on vocals, the band knew they had a good sound but was lacking depth. After a few months of strenuous practice and tighting up, Jacob decided to enlist one of Canaan’s long time friends, Patrick McNeil to fill in the bass parts. In no time the band was one big in your face wall of sound that was orchestrated perfectly. With influences from almost every genre, Jacob combines brutality and technicality with originality and fun. Matt and Jayce pack the songs with combinations of hardcore breakdowns, catchy southern rock fills, beautiful blues solos, and technical metal progressions, while Patrick and Josh are pounding your chest with straight forward and off timing rhythms. From low growls and high pitched screams to captivating melodies and hardcore harmonies, Canaan puts the mix right in your face with tons of intensity. Jacob made their debut by opening up for My Hero Is Me and AKissForJersey. With multiple shows under their belt now, a website (www.myspace.com/jacobisascoundrel), and a three song demo, the group has developed a large fan base that just keeps growing and will continue to grow. Their shows are intense, energetic, fun and all around memorable. If you are looking for a band that has all the elements of a “good band” look no further. Jacob is that band..T-SHIRTS FOR SALE ONLY $12
