About Me

Isn't it funny how God never does things the way you'd expect Him to? Everything I have ever planned for my own life God has taken, laughed at, and then reconstructed it far better than anything I had ever imagined. Eight years ago, He moved me 3,000 miles from the only home I had ever known, all the way from Texas to Oregon. There I met Jesse, two years younger than me, and my polar-opposite in nearly every way. The idea of us dating, let alone ever getting married, was so ridiculous that it became a joke between the two of us. God got the last laugh on that when He completely changed our hearts and brought each of us to the greatest love we'd ever known. I feel blessed beyond measure to spend every day with him and look forward to our future together, not having a clue what it has in store. We just bought a house together, which we moved into on May 15th. We're both so thrilled to have this opportunity at such a young age and can't wait to put our personal touches on it. We have also been trying to have a baby for 10 months now. Wouldn't you know that that's one more of my plans that God's completely turned upside down! But as I struggle through it, I strive to trust that it, too, will exceed all of my expectations when it comes to pass. I'm giving up on trying to figure it all out. I don't know where it's all headed. But I enjoy experiencing it with the love of my life right by my side.;

My Interests

God has given me a passion for all things artistic. I see beauty in all different forms and when I am creating, I feel as if I am acting in the image of my creator. I also love psychology. It's in studying humankind that I grapple with understanding the way God made us. In the past year, God has also ignited a passion in my heart for young teenagers. I see a generation that is lost and seeking in all the wrong places. I believe someday God will lead me into a ministry to point them to Him.

Music:

I think music is an amazing gift from God. It resonates within the human soul in a way that cannot be expressed in words. Therefore, I love all types of music. At times I want to be down on my knees whispering a love song for God, and other times that love builds up in such a way that I have to scream it out at the top of my lungs.

Movies:

..> Katnipped on FunnyOrDie.com ..>

Television:

I tend to gravitate towards reality television. I can't help it, even as cliche as it is. I get caught up in these people's lives and start rooting for them. So whether it's Survivor, America's Next Top Model, The Celebrity Apprentice, or The Biggest Loser, I can't wait to see what happens. I also am obsessed with HGTV and TLC and love all of the decorating shows. Heroes, The Office, and Sex & the City are all favorites of mine as well.Also, previously living with a 3 and 5 year old has gotten me interested in Spongebob Squarepants and The Fairly Odd Parents.Ok. Actually, I liked Spongebob before I moved in with them...

Books:

Spending 18 years in school has kinda ruined my passion for reading. I find myself always feeling that I have something better I could possibly be doing. However, the Bible is the number one book for me. And 2 Timothy is my favorite book of the Bible. I also enjoy anything written by Max Lucado and I really like Velvet Elvis by Rob Bell.

Heroes:

I have the utmost respect for my husband. He has surrendered the struggles in his life to God and allowed them to make him a better man. He seeks to love me the way God instructs husbands to- sacrificing his desires for mine, lifting me up when I am weak, and standing beside me in all things. I love him with everything within me. Also, my mom is a huge inspiration to me- a true example of a woman who lives her life for God, as she gives from her heart, seeking to bless those around her as God has blessed her.
