I am here for Friends and Networking

About Me

Integrity, honesty, and compassion are the most important God-given character traits a person can have. My strong-willed, independent, and stubborn nature often gets me into trouble. I tend to be optimistic in pessimistic situations and pessimistic in optimistic situations. My tastebuds are learning to be IN LOVE with healthy foods and OUT OF LOVE with those pesky sweets. My family and friends are adored, even at times of turmoil and strife. I'm English, Irish, Polish and Welsh. My nephew is the bomb, even if he's in the 'Mr. Independent' three's right now! Older adults are my heroes. The best time of year is the summer when it's so hot one could just melt by walking outdoors. However, spring is nice too! I am a social worker who often asks "Why?" My middle name is 'moody.' 'Confident' is slowly creeping into my self-descriptive vocabulary. Spelling is one of my greatest strengths. I need at least eight hours of sleep to function properly or enough exercise to get those good endorphins flowing. Body art and hair color are my means of self-expression. Unfortunately I have a tendency to be a bit controlling and perfectionistic, both of which get me into A LOT of trouble! :) I love my husband and am so thankful God put him in my life! I adore animals, especially dogs, and consider myself to be a 'pro-animal welfare' person. What else do you want to know?

My Interests

I am really into volunteering/community activism. I'm interested in my neighborhood and serve on the homeowner's board. I currently serve as Treasurer. I am interested in promoting a community environment where people feel safe and included.I am also interested in animals and the prevention of cruelty to them. I believe in educating people about the proper and humane treatment of them. Additionally, I fully support punishing people to the fullest extent of the law possible if they choose to neglect or abuse an animal. It is also my opinion that animal fighting as a sport is despicable and participants, whether observer or organizer, should be charged with a felony. In a nutshell, I'm outgoing and assertive, compassionate and kind (most of the time). I believe part of God's plan for my life is to use these assets to make a positive impact on the world around me.

I'd like to meet:

Pretty much everyone: people I knew in another life, also known as my childhood; people I've never met; people I know currently; and social workers or people who are into social justice, community activism, and standing up for others even if it goes against the "norm" (whatever normal is). Oh, and I'd also like to meet Jesus someday.

Music:

I listen to anything and everything. I enjoy everything from some classical to Christian to hip-hop and rap.

Movies:

I LOVE Sweet Home Alabama, Valley Girl, A Few Good Men, Mona Lisa Smile, The Holiday, some corny 80s movies, and pretty much most chick flicks.

Television:

I do enjoy good ole Dr. Phil and DVR his shows everyday. I also enjoy One Tree Hill, Lifetime, TLC, and HGTV. I occasionally watch the cooking channel as well.

Books:

I mostly stick to Christian fiction including mystery/thriller and romance. I prefer Christian books because they are wholesome and without unnecessary profanity, violence, and sexual inuendo. My favorite authors include Karen Kingsbury, Lori Wick and Dee Henderson.

Heroes:

Jesus, my clients, Mother Teresa, people who remain strong in the face of adversity, my Grandpa Haley, and too many others to name.
