When one's mind realizes that needs are met, one's comfortability level increases. The goal of dealing with comfortability is to reach the level of "contempt". To be contempt with self, one must gain strength in areas of weakness. One must work on the weaknesses of his/her mind, body and spirit: To work on the weaknesses, one must uncover the truth of the weaknesses. To associate a form of negativity with the weakness is the next step. The next step is to attack the attacker (the negativity). Do battle with negativity through positive action. When you win the war, you will succeed, finding inner peace. The balance of shame and pride will definitely shape one's self respect, and sticking to one's principles is a way to defeat shame; or balance your self respect to be contempt with self. The success will depend on the virtue of the principle. A PRINCIPLE IS A REASON FOR DOING OR FAILING TO DO SOMETHING PURPOSELY... One might say that PRINCIPLES give us purpose!
