General
First and foremost, I use MySpace for all my JRock
Events-related stuff. I have a normal blog on LJ, where I
write whatever random thought crosses my head. But here, I
will reserve everything for JRock Events, and sometimes
random bands that catch my interest. If you want to learn
more about JRock Events, please visit the website,
MySpace page, or LiveJournal community.
Blog entries will mainly be updates on JRock Events'
progression,
though a few random entries will show up here and there.
A little about myself. I live in Wisconsin, which equates
to the middle of nowhere when it comes right down to it,
since few Japanese bands are ever in the area. I am
currently attending college in the UW system, and I work at
a pizza joint to pay for it (and to support my JRock addiction).
I am majoring in both French and International Studies at
the moment, though I am considering changing schools so
that I can switch to a Linguistics major, because languages
are what interest me the most.
I live under a rock. I like to read here and there, but
most of my time is dedicated to JRock and talking to
friends I've made through the fandom, as well as listening
to music. I do like things other than JRock, of course,
but JRock has had a firm grip on my attention for over four
years now, the longest obsession I've had. And I don't
think that the obsession will be wilting anytime soon. But
other things I'm interested in...reading (fantasy, sci-fi,
and whatever good book/story comes along), writing (though
I've been neglecting my writing for a while now), manga and
anime (more a casual fan than anything, and I prefer
reading over watching), art/drawing, and foreign
countries/cultures/languages, to name the big ones.
I speak English as my first language, and French as my
second. I have a year of German under my belt, but that is
on hiatus due to a scheduling conflict with French. I also
just started Japanese (September 2007), so I know some basic Japanese.
I will tell you right
now--if you can sustain a conversation based on languages
alone, you win in my book.
And...that's about it. I have character flaws...but don't we all?
