Sounds Like: How would I describe my sound?
Since, I do enjoy a lack of restriction and rules when it comes to writing, I do explore the genres quite a bit so that description is not all-encompassing of course. In general, I like music that is haunting, melancholy, cinematic, and epic so to speak. If I had to pick 5 composers that I most align myself with or gravitate to for my Film Music style, it would probably be John Williams, Danny Elfman, Mychael Danna, James Newton Howard and Howard Shore. In short, if the music sounds like its weeping or escaping from the body involuntarily, then I probably like it.
