Influences: Bjork, Radiohead, Pink Floyd, Carl Orff, Juno Reactor, Elliot Smith, Howard Shore, Danny Elfman, John Williams, Siouzsie & The Banchees, Miranda Sex Garden, Magnet, Chris Cornell, VAST, Jane's Addiction, John Barry, The Beatles, Dmitri Shostakovich, David Arnold, Mychael Danna, Yes, BT, X-Dream, Depeche Mode, Led Zepplin, Crowded House, The Beach Boys, Rush, James Newton Howard, Bush, Tori Amos, Eric Clapton, Mamas & The Papas, Film School, Mogwai, The Hollies, Harry Nilson, Malevolent Creation, Grave, Entombed (left-hand path days), Napalm Death, Cynic, Jeff Buckley, Alice In Chains, Alan Silvestri, Jenn Shepard, Adam Watts, Duran Duran, Tears For Fears, Autechre, Beck, Bernard Hermann, Coldplay, Travis, Gorguts, Black Sabbath, Deftones, Delerium, David Bowie, John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, Filter, Goldfrapp, Gorillaz, Keane, Frou Frou, Sneaker Pimps, Hans Zimmer, Hybrid, Digweed, Sasha, Igor Stravinsky, Elliot Goldenthal, James Horner, Jem, Mark Isham, Michael Giachinno, Killing Joke, Meat Beat Manifesto, Thievery Corporation, No Doubt, New Order, Morrissey, Eminem, Mr. Bungle, Nirvana, Pet Shop Boys, Muse, Poe, Pearl Jam, Pyotr llyich Tchaikovsky, Sergey Prokofiev, Sting, The Police, Santana, Blur, Stone Temple Pilots, Soundgarden, The Monkees, The Moody Blues, Cat Stevens, The Killers, The Shins, Thomas Newman, Jerry Goldsmith, Gustav Mahler, ...
Sounds Like: How would I describe my sound?
Since, I do enjoy a lack of restriction and rules when it comes to writing, I do explore the genres quite a bit so that description is not all-encompassing of course. In general, I like music that is haunting, melancholy, cinematic, and epic so to speak. If I had to pick 5 composers that I most align myself with or gravitate to for my Film Music style, it would probably be John Williams, Danny Elfman, Mychael Danna, James Newton Howard and Howard Shore. In short, if the music sounds like its weeping or escaping from the body involuntarily, then I probably like it.
