About Me

My favorite movie to watch over and over again is Twister. This has not changed since I was 11 years old and probably never will.
I quit playing the piano for three years. It didn't last.
People fascinate me. I like to make up background stories to random people I see on the street.
I get really, irrationally angry when I'm listening to music and I accidentally pull one headphone out of my ear.
Canada rocks.
Dobro players do it better. "It" being everything. Someday we'll rule the world.
Music and I are in a long term relationship. Ours is a tumultuous, passionate affair. I've stormed out the house a few times. We may be working things out though.
I think it's cool when someone is an enormous inspiration and they never know it.
I don't know if I could do anything except be involved with music for the rest of my life.
WHAT PEOPLE ARE SAYING ABOUT LUCCIANA COSTA:
"A person can usually look at a particular building or car and tell if it is a quality construction; such is not always the case with music. in this brave new digital world, thousands of new artists are competing for attention and throwing everything they have at us to do it. Few artists emerge form this and can be called a pure songwriter. Even fewer spend the time to carefully construct a song that leaves you both satisfied and emotionally connected to the experience.
Emerging form the pile is Lucciana Costa with her debut work "Advanced Cuts." The granddaughter of jazz great Eddie Costa, Lucciana had big shadows cast on her whenever she stepped to the piano. Some of her hard rhythmic lower register use of the keys she gets honesty; it is in her genes. The rest she gets from working hard and listening to a wide range of styles. her vocal style is smooth, clear and unfiltered by gadgets and gizmos. She just tells you a story, plain and simple, and underneath the story lays a dynamic spectrum of sound and instrumentation. Sometimes it is subtle, and sometimes it is loud and proud, but always the exact right thing in that moment. Although the piano is the underlying instrument driving the rhythm in her songs, she has interspersed several samples of her beloved resonator guitar sound throughout this collection. Working with some of the top sutdio musicians in her hometown of Ann Arbor, Michigan, Costa has assembled a record worthy of attention to a very large fan base." -Press Release
"With her catchy, creative and intensely personal tracks, Lucciana Costa is reminiscent of old-school Liz Phair infused with a little bit of today's Taylor Swift. The vocals are clear and endearing, and you quickly find yourself rooting for the girl behind the piano. "Hallmark" is a radio-friendly love track, and "Canada" is a smile-to-yourself gem. As both a performer and a songwriter, this young woman has quite a career ahead of her, and I look forward to watching her grow and succeed musically." -Sasha Pasulka, author of the website Evil Beet
"I approve of Lucciana because her songs have correct grammar and are logically coherent. Also they are catchy and beautiful! This is a one-two punch, people." -Ryan North, creator of Dinosaur Comics
