Ilana started singing seven years ago in Cherry Hill, NJ. She sang in the Belles of East and East Singers, the top vocal groups at her high school. She sang in State Choir and the 2005 ACDA National Honor Choir in Los Angeles. She was awarded the PTA Music Award at her graduation of high school in 2005. She then went on to study at the New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music, where she is currently a sophomore and has studied with Janet Lawson and Richard Harper amongst others. Aside from her music studies, she is also arranging music for an a cappella group at the New School and interning at Musicians on Call. In addition to singing, Ilana is continually working on accompanying herself on piano and composing.
