4:20 Began as a symbol for the time of day that a group of students designated to smoke weed. 30 plus years later 4:20 no longer represents the time, but rather the day. However, in 1982 April 20th gave birth to Philadelphia native Jay Brody. Born in the South Philadelphia, when the Martin Luther King housing projects were still standing; Brody spent most of his years as a youth moving around, virtually touching down in almost every part of Philadelphia at one point or another. And with every move, trouble soon followed. Before reaching teen years Brody had prior arrests stemming from Breaking and Entering, destruction of property, and numerous theft charges. Despite academic abilities, Brody found himself out of school much more than in. It wasn't until being expelled from a West Philadelphia middle school that Brody found himself in a Group home. In August of 1995, the South Side of Bethlehem, Pa became the new home to Jay Brody. Years later along side P Solo and Sam Smith, Jay Brody represented 6th and Alantic's Yosko Park on the local rap scene. At first, rap was just a hobby. Thanks to the Group Home, Jay earned himself an opportunity to go to college. Before graduating Brody performed in a couple showcases at Larry Holmes ringside with Savage Omega, Chris and the kid from Newark, at which point he began taking music seriously. Following the introduction to live performances, the first song was recorded, "Soldiers". Performed with Savage the song was sent to NewMusicReporter.com where after one week it was voted Number 1 on the site's hip hop chart. 2006 Brody linked up with 5 Point super producer Meatbeats which lead to collaborations with Qash Qai, D Skills, and C Quel, with the help of fellow Allentown super producers Rick Chainy and Phaze Wun. Fast forwarding to present day, Jay Brody, backed by El Chain Records has appearances on the El Chain Records "Worldwide" compilation in addition to working on his solo album, "My Story Gotta Be Told", which the release date has yet to be set.Header Banner Made with MyBannerMaker.com!
