The political atmosphere is dismal and the future is bleak. Competition over diminishing resources is growing in intensity, while the race to find viable alternatives is reminiscent of an unadulterated bar brawl. Fits of scratching and kicking mark the desperate efforts of a society trying to stall the march toward impending doom. Then suddenly a flash of light erupts from within the cesspool, and the ensuing shock wave, manifested as a sonic boom of frustration and amplified aggression, rips at the cloud cover devastating everything in its wake. As the dust settles, focus shifts toward the epicenter of the blast, searching out the source of the mind-altering cataclysm. Smoldering with spent intensity and soaked in gamma rays lay The Cruz Missiles, the heralds of...
The Cruz Missiles began in 2006 as a solo recording project for frontman Skot Stillborn. He wrote and recorded a number of songs from his apartment in downtown Santa Cruz, CA... some of which were lucky enough to be played on the radio. With time, the momentum surrounding The Cruz Missiles began to pick up and Skot started to construct a lineup to perform live. His friends Jake and Corey from Misled Citizen joined the group, and though their stay was brief, they contributed two songs to The Cruz Missiles' catalog: "Vultures" and "Vendetta". Skot relocated to the North Bay in order to concentrate on developing the new lineup, however Jake and Corey left the band shortly thereafter to pursue other musical interests. Friends Darren and Kevin of the North Bay punk band Something Cool stepped in, and the current incarnation of The Cruz Missiles was born. They have spent most of 2007/2008 playing around Northern California.
