My Interests

I'm a very sociable person and love nout more than gettin messy and meeting new people (even if I can't remember in the morning). I love going to gigs (Hip Hop / indie / rock) and raves (D & B) as I have a strong passion for live music. I Like to play as much sport as I can, especially football. Also like cricket, snooker and going to the gym. Also into films: anything revolutionary, controversial, obscure - or whatever takes my fancy. Classify myself as a D & B / Hip Hop MC, amateur producer, amateur DJ and film maker.

Music:

Music is my refuge. My music tastes range from Drum and Bass and UK hip hop, to classic rock, jazz, soul and Reggae. I love artists and groups that push the boundaries of modern music, and experiment with different forms and genres.I am primarilty a Drum & Bass MC, but have recently branched out into hip hop because of the emphasis on the quality and feelings purely within the lyrics. Also the opportunity for much more intricate rhyme patterns. Don't get me wrong I still love the rave scene - but music is all about moods; and I don't always feel like ravin my tits off. Writing Hip Hop gives me a chance to socially analyse where I come from and where I want to get to. It also gives me a voice to speak my mind (and the minds of my people) on the more important issues within politics.A big fan of the 'Brit Pop' era of music. Bands such as Oasis, Radiohead, Cast, Suede, Shed 7, The Verve, The Stereophonics, Pulp and Blur were my early idols. Some of my favourite D & B producers are: Baron, Total Science, Zinc, Dillinja, Roni Size, Sub Focus, Wickaman, Hoodlum, Generation Dub, Twisted Individual, Taxman, Hype, Pascal, Hazard, Pendulum, Total Science, Mampi Swift, Nicky Blackmarket, Ray Keith, Noisia. Am also a big Squarepusher fan cos his beats are soooooo tekky and messed up. I love any kind of messed up basslines, but also love old-skool jungle. Was well into jump-up at an early age (and still am to an extent) but am really into the darker stuff now, as well as liquid D & B.I think it's wicked that Drum and Bass is diversifying around so many different sub-genres, but for me it's all good. Whether dark n dirty, old skool jungle, rollin session or down right FILTH!!Bring it right on - the f*ckin lot of it!!My favourite rappers/hip-hop groups are: Gift of Gab (Blackalicious), Lyrics Born, Jurassic 5 - anyone on Quannum Projects really. Also like Atmosphere and Sage Francis. I love poetry and Hip Hop so Sage for me is a legend. In terms of UK: Foreign Beggars, Jehst, Task Force, Braintax, Mystro, Klashnekoff (and Terra Firma cru), Dr Syntax, Stig of the Dump, Phi-Life Cypher, Mark B and Blade, Roots Manuva. US Hip Hop artists like Snoop Dogg, Dr Dre, Cypress Hill, Ice Cube, Mos Def, DMX etc. first got me into Hip Hop at an early age. I'm sorry homies but it's all about UK in the here and now!It is my burning ambition to work in the music industry, whether it be as a rapper / MC, DJ, producer or record label owner. I am now spitting on DJ NATIV and DJ REPLICA's show on Drum & Bass internet radio @ www.kunninmindz.com every Tuesday from 10pm till midnight. So get locked on.

Television:

Don't really watch much telly, ain't got time. Love to watch films, usually on film four. Also like to watch American sitcoms when I'm tired - less for the brain to do than watching UK programming (some). I'm a big fan of channel 4, but Big Brother is absolute GASH; what does it say about the state of our country when people choose to sit in a house - whilst watching people sitting in a house?! Not only that but people talk about it at work for the whole f*cking day! Love comedy, especially new series' of Family Guy and South Park. Other favourites include: Monkey Dust, Have I Got News for You, Never Mind the Buzzcocks and The Simpsons.
