About Me

Hello dears. I would like to welcome you to my page. My name is Athenadora Volturi. I am the wife to Caius Volturi. /sighs and fans/ I love my husband very much. But before I go on about him and the family I have now, let me tell you a little about me. My story.
I was born in the early centuries around the 1500's. I lived in Volterra Italy with my family. My parents were among the royal family. We were not royal by any means but lived among them. Do not mistaken that. We lived in the court yard as peasents. My father worked in the stables for the family and my mother was a seamstress. I was a child of five. I was only 20 at the time. The family had saved enough money from work to take a trip. We had always wanted to go to Sienna. It wasn't far from Volterra.
Sienna (Siena in the Italian spelling) is situated on three gently rising hills in central Tuscany, Italy. The Siennese are said to speak the purist form of the Tuscan dialect which, at the unification of Italy, became the national language. Sienna is quite rightly extremely popular with tourists but because it is a town and not a village. Thus is the place I last remember before the change.
It was a beautiful place. The visit had extended longer then anticipated due to my father finding work and my mother falling ill. We did not have the money to keep her in the local hospital. I cared for my mom and tended to the house and my siblings. I was the oldest of the kids. I remember this time for its loss and tragedy. You see, we loose our memories, or at least most of them when we are turned.
The final day in my human life is an embedded memory the I wish would fade. It was in the fall. The weather was turning colder. Food was scares due to the drout of water in the summer. We had a good stock of food from the market. There were a few items missing so while my father tended to my mother, I headed to the market place. My three brothers came with me. In that time it was unheard of for lady to speak to the men in the towns market without another male present. We gathered the items we needed. As we walked through the market towards the lane for home, we had noticed some onlookers in black cloaks. I had never seen them in town before. My brothers stayed close. Though I was the oldest, They were much bigger then me. I took after my mom and they resembled my father. We walked down the lane at a steady past. We rounded the turn and looked back to see the three of them staring our direction. I began to get nervous. I wispered to my brothers that we needed to quicken our pace lightly. We walked faster and releif fell over my body when I saw the cottage in the field. I glanced behind me and did not see them. I relaxed and told them to hurry and we ran to the house. Upon returning the front door was open and the house was dark. I stepped in and turned on the light. My father was asleep on the couch, or so it seemed, with my mother in his arms. I went into mine and my sisters room and she to was asleep. It took me by surprise but I shrugged it off. "they're tired" I told myself. Me and my brothers started dinner. I went to wake my father and screamed. His lips were purple as were my mothers. I ran to check on my baby sister and she was purple and ice cold. I began to cry histarically with my brothers. they were angry and began to grab knives and the guns from our parents room. I lifted my sister up and carried her over to the couch. I placed her gently next to my parents and covered them. I knew we couldn't stay. We had to leave. My brothers went to start the truck. They were not old enough to drive legally and women were not allowed.
I began to cry harder as they never cam back. I kissed my mothers, fathers and sisters foreheads and headed for the door. I opened it slowly and looked out to the running truck. It was empty. I called for them but they did not come. I ran to the truck scared to stay. I got to the driver door and climbed in. I had watched my father so many times. I struggled with the gears. I looked up to see him. I froze. It was one of the cloaked figures from the market. He was beautiful. My heart pounded in my throat. He was pale with light hair. I shook my head as the tears fled down my cheeks. I turned around as I stepped on the gas to see another one. I screamed. I looked forward and he was gone. I looked to my left and the gorgeous man was at my door. I stared into his eyes and pleaded in my mind to please not hurt me. To spare me and I would forever serve him. He shook his head and smiled at me as he opened the door. He was polite and gentle as he spoke. "Don't worry. I will do as you wish. I will spare your life" How did he know? I was even more frightened. He asked me to scoot over and I obeyed. the others climbed in the truck as well. it was so cold. The truck was freezing. They drove through town and headed for the main road back to Volterra. I looked over the hill as we passed the town from the hillside. I cried uncontrolably. They were growling. We were in Volterra in no time and right back to the home I remembered. They pulled to a stop and got out. The one that drove reached his hand out for mine. I took it. I shivvered and stared at him horrified. He was freezing. His skin as cold as ice, hard as stone and pale. They led me into the castle. I knew my way around from working here with my mother. They introduced themselves once the door was shut. The one that dazzled me was Caius, and the others were Aro and Marcus.
The Change
The next thing I remember was Aro standing so close to me that i was froze in my spot. And then it hit me. I felt the searing painin my neck. I grabbed my neck and backed up till I hit the wall. I turned and fell against it sliding to the floor. I laid on the floor screaming in pain. The pain was nothing I had aver felt before. It jerked and jolted through my veins like a snake striking you repeatedly. My whole body burned. All I could think of was why.. Why did he say he would spare me and then kill me. I wished to die soon so the pain would go away. It began to ease and my body began to relax. This was it. My final breaths and time on earth were in a dark room on a cold concrete floor. i layed there as I listened to my heart. It raced faster and faster. I had a burning in my throat. It burned almost as much as my body did. Then it happened. My heart stopped.
The new me
I wasn't dead though. I took a breath. I opened my eyes and looked around. I jumped up and saw them. I growled and the one I trusted smiled and told me he spared my life. I stood up from a crouched position. I looked at him and smiled. He asked me for my name. "Athenadora" I said. My voice was soft and steady. "What am I?" I asked. I was explained the existance of the unnatural. I was shocked and in disbelief at first. They showed me books and others. I was a vampire.
This was the beginning of a new life for me. The life of the undead. I was attached to Caius from the first time I set eyes on him. I began to fall in love with him. We were inseperable. He was not like his brothers. They were the type to negotiate the rules they set forth. Caius, my love, was one to enforce the rules and take action. Through the years our "family" grew. We began to obtain others to protect us. Why? you ask... We were the most feared vampires in the world. I was one of three wives. Didyme and Sulpicia. Marcus and Didyme had been together long before I came along and Aro was blessed with Sulpicia. We ruled the world in our existence. Others of our kind either followed or payed the price. We had become a coven by the name of The Volturi after a tragedy. During and off spring war with newborns that had reeked havoc on a nearby town, Didyme was lost to us. Marcus was outraged. I had never seen him so down in the centuries we spent together. The guards were picked selectively. Aro chose ones with special abilities to protect us. We grew and the times passed. We were and still are The Volturi.
