Emma Thompson
J.K. Rowling
Ricky Gervais
Emily Haines
Paul Gross
Madeleine L'Engle
Owen Pallett (aka Final Fantasy)
Kirsten Dunst
Reese Witherspoon

Zac Efron
Maureen Johnson
Ann Brashares
people interested in fashion, music, art, theatre, film, and culture
Right now, I'm getting into cross-genre stuff--I love the Marie Antoinette soundtrack because of the shockingly perfect placement of the songs despite the fact that, you know, it was set in 18th century France. I also love Final Fantasy (aka Owen Pallett)'s lovely arrangement of indie strings on his older album "Has A Good Home." But I suppose you want me to list stuff, so here is SOME of the stuff I've been listening to: Laura Veirs, The Decemberists, Bloc Party, Emily Haines and the Soft Skeleton, mezzo-soprano Teresa Berganza, soprano Dawn Upshaw, the High School Musical soundtrack, Jay Chou, David Tao, Joshua Radin, Johnny Cash, the Walk the Line soundtrack, Joel Plaskett, Natalie MacMaster, Thom Yorke, The Shins, Belle & Sebastian, Radiohead.
Before Sunrise, Before Sunset, Citizen Kane, Gone with the Wind, Pride & Prejudice (all versions), North & South, Lost in Translation, L'Auberge espagnole, Dear Frankie, Almost Famous, Chungking Express, In Her Shoes, The Station Agent, The Republic of Love
The Office (UK), The Office (US), Gilmore Girls, Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip, Slings & Arrows, Ed, Roswell, Buffy, Dawson's Creek
How about if I just list authors/playwrights? Virginia Woolf, Oscar Wilde, Tom Stoppard, William Shakespeare, Ernest Hemingway, William Faulkner, F. Scott Fitzgerald, Annie Dillard, Maureen Johnson, Ann Brashares, Nick Bantock, Shel Silverstein, Jane Austen, Jocelyn Moriarty, Alice Munro, W.B. Yeats, T.S. Eliot, Madeleine L'Engle...this list could go on forever.
Sonja Andic, for having the balls to stand up to UBS' Wicked Witch of the West, and for dragging me to meet Alan Rickman
