I am a studio and live musician with over 25 years in the music business as a session musician, performer, producer, arranger, and songwriter. My current projects are Kristen Chandler and Thousand Gathered, and Cutting Edge, and I have appeared on singles with both bands.
I started playing music at the age of 6, when I got my first 'cello. When I was 13, I got my first guitar (a Yamaha RGX110, which I still have in a closet somewhere), and I formed my first band, "The Flannery 5" when I was 17. It was named after the headmaster of my high school, who had gotten a highly publicized DUI on a bicycle. When I was 19, I got my first bass, an Alvarez 5-string, which I loved to death. It was cheap, but it was paid for, yknow? When I went to college, session work was frowned upon (mostly because I underbid all the other students in the cello studio, in effect, playing for free - a lot of people bitched, and I had no idea that I was supposed to charge $100 an hour!). I hung up the cello for good, dropped out of school, and concentrated on guitar and bass.
Today, I play mostly bass, with only rare forays into guitar and other instruments. My basses of choice at this time are the Warwick Thumb 5-string and my Wishbass custom 4-string fretless.
The tracks on this page are recorded using those basses, my Mexican Telecaster (with Seymour Duncan pickups), and samples generated in Garage Band. Any comments are thoroughly encouraged.
