About Me

If Polly Harvey, Jimi Hendrix and Joni Mitchell somehow spawned a musical lovechild...
Naomi: Personal Touch (Live)
..
Sex With Me...This song make you horny.. long time...
The way this song starts is awesome. The phasing between the left and right channel really lets you close your eyes and start to get into the mood of the song. When the vocals kick in.. well.. this is not one of those songs that uses metaphors or similie to try and paint a subtle picture... this song is down and dirty, and this girl knows what she wants. It's nice to find a vocalist/songwriter who doesn't pull any punches, and writes the most direct song. The fact that the vocalist is killer really just makes you understand, and comply. On to the rest of the tune. The guitar is really well done, and the rhythm section is solid. The use of the light keyboard in the background is slight, but adds something to listen too, and catches your attention. Not to take anything away from the rest of the musicians, but it's very refreshing to find some vocals that hold the same intensity and emotion through the entire song. Given, the emotion is raw sensuality, but it's conveyed exactly how it should be. Kick Ass.

NME on Be My Lover
Gruff, bluesy rocker with a shit-kicking vocal sounding as if Naomi has been gargling dust from the courtyard of Texas state penitentiary. Add a clued-up rootsy backing track with slashing Dixie violins and the caustic thrum of bucolic acoustic guitars, and you've got the kind of gravelly grind which will cling to drivetime national radio like glue.
NME Live Review Grrr. Lioness in the area
Naomi even possesses the sort of steely confidence and a way of 'projecting atcha' which allows her to get away with singing the entire set in a full-on American accent...Grrr. Lioness in the area. The unsuspecting audience seem somewhat intimidated by the prowling form onstage. Midlands chanteuse Naomi and her dazzlingly buffed rock-block band have clearly not come to audition for the ethereal slot on Lilith Fair. They are here to raunch atcha. Her packaging makes the just-one-name Naomi seem like a popette. In reality she's all trad rock trappings and Alanis-authenticated songcraft topped off with a wild voice. The mega-chorused tousled blues of 'Be My Lover' lurches by with its complement of "let me go down" saucy lyrics. A tambourine is given a beating for the Garbage-gone-folk of 'Stripped'. And there are special ballads and enough moody grinding to pull her back from the brink of brazen.Naomi even possesses the sort of steely confidence and a way of 'projecting atcha' which allows her to get away with singing the entire set in a full-on American accent. She bosses her band about, lectures the crowd on being sluggish, and walks offstage leaving her boys to raunch on, like you do when you're an un-deconstructed, transatlantic-centred, big-voiced, big-ambitioned, Brit-Sheryl star in the making. Radios will roar.
