BRIAN SHAPIRO, composer, arranger and performer, has just recieved his BM in Jazz Performance from Towson University studying under Dave Ballou. He has performed at many major venues in Baltimore and DC including, but not limited to, Ande Musik, 13th Floor, the 8x10, Recher Theatre, Sonar night club, Bossa, and the 9:30 Club. He has also performed in the Miami area at such clubs as the Jazzid. Although he has a concentration in Jazz, his abilities cover multiple genres of music including funk, pop, jam,latin, hip-hop, and experimental. He takes pride in exploring the sonic possibilities of the trumpet accoustically and in using electronic effects. Brian has played with many bands in and out of the metropolitan area including Rumba Club, Basshound, Technicolour Brother, Damn Right, Earthtone, To A Science, The Towson University Big Band, and DJ Spam and the Spam Allstars, but his current projects are the Opposable Thumbs and the Baltimorchestra.OPPOSABLE THUMBS have just released a new record entitled "Bobs Midnight Construction"!
