I graduated from Leeds college of music, where I studied with Simon Barnes and won the Tolson prise for Brass. Since graduating I have worked with many of the UK’s finest jazz musicians including Al Wood, Alan Barnes, Dennis Rollins, Mark Nightingale and Gerard Presencer. I was a member of Bobby Shew’s All-star Big Band on the occasion of the American star’s recent UK visit. I have also played at Ronnie Scotts in London for the Duke Ellington Society annual meeting. I’ve performed with the National Youth Jazz Orchestra, the Doncaster Jazz Orchestra and the Al Wood Big Band, and work regularly with many jazz groups across the north of England. I have just recently returned from a three month tour across Europe with the official tribute to The Blues Brothers theatre show. Other theatre work includes GUY’S AND DOLLS, WEST SIDE STORY, OLIVER, LA CAGE AUX FOLLES, CINDERELLA, THE WIZ! and ANYTHING GOES.
