22 year old Michelle Newman has been involved in the music industry for 12 years. She has an incredible passion for all types of music and has been professionally trained to sing just about any genre. Michelle has sung the theme songs for many television shows such as Mighty Bug Five and Atomic Betty and Wilbur. She has also had her voice featured on national commericals such as Target Superstores. Michelle also sings the opening song in the blockbuster film Baileys Billions. Michelle has recorded demos for a number of recording artists at Sony/BMG Canada, Metalworks, Phase One and many other various studios around Toronto. She is a natural in the studio and is constantly recording with different producers, demoing different genres of music. Michelle has also sung backup for Tina Turner as well as members of the Philosopher Kings. Not only a singer, Michelle is also a songwriter, with a flair for originality and emotion. Creating a buzz in her homebase of Toronto, she has won awards for her talents at local shows, newspapers, as well as on the radio. As an independant artist, Michelle has performed at NXNE Savannah, The Horseshoe Tavern, Cameron House, , Mel Lastman Square, Princess Margaret Hospital, The International Milk festival, Harbourfront, The Mothers Day Telethon (ONTV), as well she sang both national anthems at Toronto Raptors home games. Michelle is also no stranger to the stage, she has performed in many theatrical productions which include Joseph and The Amazing Tehnicolour Dreamcoat, starring Donny Osmond. Michelle describes her personal style as eclectic. Currently writing and singing her own music, Michelle brings together styles of Rock, Pop and Soul.
