At 1Xtra Kinky worked alongside the cream of the urban scene including Ras Kwame, Robbo Ranx, and Ronnie Herel. ‘Xcess With Kinky D’ ran Tuesday to Friday, 2-6am with great success both at home and abroad. It was with this show that Kinky did a live simultaneous broadcast on Christmas morning 2002 with Radio 1, her energetic and gregarious manner well suited to the slot. From there she propelled herself onto the FM dial hosting and producing her own shows on London’s Urban Fresh, Rhythm FM and House music station Unknown FM.
With London as her base, Kinky D has ventured far and wide with her record box, energy, and skills playing gigs in many countries including Mexico, Dominican Republic, Thailand, Australia, Russia, Seoul, Spain, and Greece. At each gig she plays, her following grows and her name is remembered.
