Danny Samar(bassplayer-composer).Music was all around when I grow up. My father was playing the bass, my mother playing keys and my little brother playing the bass and guitar. So I had to follow. I started dancing and playing the guitar when I was six years old. It took a while, when I picked up the bass-guitar, I was sixteen. From that day, I still play the bass.Growing up with musical influences like Motown, Jimi Hendrix, Sly Stone, Curtis Mayfield, James Brown, Al Green, Ray Charles, Donny Hathaway and later on people like Miles Davies, Charlie Parker, John Coltrane, Bach, Fela Kuti. You see, these people are all icons in their area of time and place. Listening to all these people changed my life in a very big way.But more important in a way, I believe, are the people near your when it comes to playing and musical development. I would like to thank my dear long life friend Florian Hoefnagels (what a great person and musician you are, with you it’s an endless adventure…). Also people like Maik Shott, Tobias Held, Danny Schrotele (you three are true musical Yoda’s of your time, playing with you guys changed the whole thing for me). Bonez (yo my man... you showed me what Hip Hop is all about, thank you. Dennis Davies (Ooo you know that time is a trick and you are doing it time after time, a true master playing with time). And of course, Sir Bram Laan, it’s great to play and be around with you. You showed me to believe in my own shit, thanks. Most of these people are unknown butt they are true gifted musicians. There influences on me are too incredible. Without them, I never would be on the place and stage where I’m now a day’s.
